From the snowy mountains of Andorra to the Big Apple (New York), Movers work from different parts of the world, across different timezones bringing to life different business solutions, integrations and funny video ideas.
Ever wondered what it looks like behind the scenes at Move Work Forward? Here is a sneak peek into the life of some of the members of the team at Move Work Forward and where the magic happens - our workspaces
We also share our interesting routines, productivity hacks and what we love most about our setup.
Maria’s Workspace - Resident Compliance Police 👮🏼
Maria works on the Quality Assurance team at Move Work Forward from Calgary Canada where in winter (which is very close) it could be up to -30°C, so it was very important to get a perfect workspace that is comfortable for both living and working.
Maria’s Daily routine - I listen to a lot of dynamic music, do 3 coffee breaks in the day, and sometimes go to work from a coffee house.
What do you like most about your setup? - I love the amazing views from my window at any time of the day, which inspires me to be productive. And I also love the opportunity to work in bed, at a bar table, in a cafe, on a couch, on a sofa, literally from anywhere.
Vasly’s Workspace - Chief Meme Officer 🃏
Vasly is our Lead Product Designer working from Kharkiv, Ukraine. Vasyl also provides most of the jokes during team meetings
Daily routine: I enjoy working on our product designs, listening to music and podcasts, watching YouTube videos, and having some daily team calls.
What do you like most about your setup: I like the fact that I work from home, it saves me a lot of time so I can sleep more :)
Also, it’s nice that my wife and our beautiful daughter are in the next room and I can see them during the day. And another cool thing is that my cat Tina loves to have a nap on my lap.
Pelumi’s Workspace - Captain Conversion
Pelumi works on marketing and acquisition activities from the windy city of Birmingham, United Kingdom
Daily routine/ Any productivity hacks - A breakfast sandwich is a perfect start to the day for me. I listen to a lot of music while working, I also keep my phone as far away from me as possible (sometimes in another room) so I focus only on work. I drink a lot of water too :)
What do you like most about your setup? - My portable laptop stand (Casa pop-up desk), helps me work from anywhere effectively when I need to change my environment a bit.
Leo’s Workspace - Lead Gladiator
Leo is the founder and CEO of Move Work Forward which means he does everything and this is probably why his setup doesn't have a chair. Leo lives and works in Ordino, Andorra
Daily routine: I listen to the night rain (white noise) and go for short walks in the forest. I batch tasks and time myself
What do you like most about your setup: I like my standing desk, huge screen and timer.
Yulian’s Workspace - The Demo Man
Yulian works from an office in Lviv, Ukraine which he rents with friends (from different companies). Yulian shows us that there are still people in this world who would rather work from an office.
Spot the dog)
Daily routine/ Any productivity hacks - I take 5-10 min breaks at least each 1 hour for physical activities or music. I just have headphones right now because my monitor broke :
What do you like most about your setup? Portable computer, so I can work almost anywhere)
Natalia's Workspace - Code Whisperer
Natalia is one of our full-stack Engineers working from Ljubljana, Slovenia. So if you’ve ever reported a fire (bug) with one of our products, Natalia is one of the firefighters 👩🏻🚒
Daily routine and productivity hacks - I do the most complex and short tasks in the morning, then take a break - and go out for a bicycle ride or walk. And then continue with more routine tasks. I also use the Pomodoro technique (25-minute intervals of complete focus).
What do you like most about your setup? - I use a projector instead of the external screen most of the time because I’ve struggled with eye strain a lot and it solved the problem for me. I also use an adjustable desk that allows me to switch from standing to sitting.
Tanya’s Workspace - Documentation Architect
Tanya leads product development activities in the ever-busy city of London, United Kingdom
Daily routine/ Any productivity hacks - Listening to my favourite music on my headphones helps me to escape from the outside world and concentrate on work. I like making short coffee breaks and enjoying the view from the window to organise my thoughts and priorities.
What do you like most about your setup? - There are tons of benefits of a remote job, which save time and energy. Personally, for me, it is the ability to change locations whenever I want, to be close to my family in circumstances of necessity and to prepare fresh coffee and a tasty lunch without the necessity to eat junk food :)
We hope you enjoyed this!
How We Stay Productive As A Team
One thing everyone learns as soon as you join Move Work Forward is the Idea of transparency, we are an an open company and promote the importance of over-communicating and collaboration across teams. One way we achieve this is by using Atlassian tools like Confluence for documenting and Jira for task management and managing projects.
