Buenos Dí·as!

Move Work Forward is a fully-remote team and once in a while, we meet in person to build bonds and have fun and create memories together. This year we went to Spain for a 5-day team offsite. It all started in the sunny Barcelona 🌞.

We are currently a team of 12 people, but only 7 could make it to Spain this time. While waiting for the team’s arrival in Barcelona, we tried Paella.

On the first day, we had a free day where people hit the beach or were discussing hard-burning issues like the temperature of the swimming pool or the distance to the nearest karting place. We played some table games while having exciting conversations.

‍

The second day was one of the main days where we hiked together, rode karts and cooked dinner for all of us.

We picked a trail that challenged us mentally as well as physically, we walked a total of 10km which was pretty much a new record for most of the team. We had a very nice weather and stunning views.

The cooking was fun, the teams had to come up with the recipes, buy ingredients and cook together. We had 3 kitchens and we made tons of tasty food.

After the cooking, we had a blast playing a game where everybody was coming up with tough questions and colleagues had to answer them. We had tons of interesting discussions which helped us connect even better. Some people stayed up until 4 a.m. The next day was an easy one - walks, food and beach.

On Thursday we made a road trip to the Pyrenees mountains. We did a rafting course in the Barcelona 92 Olympic kayaking track and afterwards had a nice drive towards a tree climbing adventure.

To close the trip we had a cool dinner where we tried tons of seafood and nearly died from the food coma.

‍

I look forward to the next team event! This one was a blast.

  • DevOps Barcelona (9-10 November)
