Last week, I had the chance to attend AgentCon Singapore, a conference fully dedicated to Agentic AI - and it was an inspiring experience.
Smart people, smarter ideas
The best part? The people. The event gathered brilliant minds from insurance, finance, and tech, all exploring how advanced AI technologies are reshaping the way we work and collaborate.
Multi-agent collaboration - micro-services for humans
One of the highlights was seeing multi-agent collaboration in action. Imagine a team of AI agents, each specialized in a task, working together towards personal, team, or project goals - very much like micro-services in software architecture and work together without you doing anything. A live demo with Microsoft Copilot Studio showcased how agents can interact, integrate, and drive workflows.
Building with Google and Microsoft tools
Another session I enjoyed was Building a Conversational AI Agent with the Google Agent Development Kit. It featured a Python demo showing news reporting and summarization capabilities.
Of course, Microsoft wasn’t far behind. They now provide a suite of tools for agent development - from Amazon AI Foundry and Azure AI Agent Service to Copilot Studio - making it easier to experiment and build agent-driven workflows.
Agents ≠ automation (yet)
One interesting spin from the conference: most current “agent” use cases are workflow automation with a touch of intelligence, rather than fully autonomous decision-making. The truly smart AI agents are those that work toward a goal with humans in the loop, guiding and adjusting along the way.
The road ahead
It’s clear where this is going. Soon, every office worker could have their own team of AI agents - scheduling meetings, requesting PTO, writing code, reviewing pull requests, preparing for calls, generating analytics, and even creating reports or presentations.
At Move Work Forward, we believe this future is very close. That’s why this week, we’re experimenting with new AI proofs of concept around Microsoft Teams and Jira, helping teams get more done with less friction.
The future of work is not just about one copilot - it’s about a team of copilots, working with you.
